Congratulations to the Winners! - UK Bonsai Ceramics Contest -

After months of preparation and pot design and creation, the 1st UK Bonsai Ceramics Contest was a huge success, with a diverse range of high quality exhibits from potters across the U.K.

All of the artists are to be congratulated for having their exhibits selected for the contest, and it was a pleasure to enjoy the superb pots on display.

The exhibition was assessed by 3 judges according to pre-assessed scoring criteria.

The winning exhibits are as follows:

- Winner of the Unglazed Category: Esther Griffiths, England.

... organic nanban style pots by Esther Griffiths.

- Winner of the Glazed Category: Ian Baillie, Scotland.

- Winner of the UKBCC 2026: Ian Baillie, Scotland.

... a pair of pots in antique effect glazes by Ian Baillie.

The EBPC, BonsaiExpo UK and UKBA would like to thank all of the artists that supported and participated in this exciting event. Being able to appreciate and discuss some of the best bonsai ceramics the UK has to offer was a fascinating part of the BonsaiExpo Uk bonsai exhibition.

There was a great buzz about the ceramics contest, and we look forward to the 2nd UKBCC in 2027!

In just one week from today the UK’s favourite bonsai exhibition for many, UKBA BonsaiExpo UK 2026 will take place at
the K2 Leisure Centre, RH11 9BQ (10 till 4pm)

This year, this exciting annual event will proudly host the 1st UK Bonsai Ceramics Contest!
This will be a fantastic event, and we hope the first of many to come. Thank you to everyone that has supported and made this possible.

Following the very sad passing of one of the UK's most influential bonsai potters, there will also be a Bryan Albright Tribute display, showcasing examples of Bryan’s magnificent work.

The EBPC will also be TRADING , and bringing you some really nice new bonsai pots by leading European Artists. ... Small bonsai stands and furniture .. & New & old Japanese pots.

After a really busy start to the year, I am very much looking forward to catching up with both friends and pot lovers & I hope to see you there!
