EBPC Potter Profiles
By Tony and Nuria Amago
Kamereon Pots was founded in 2020 by husband and wife team Tony Amago and Nuria Rodríguez in 2020.
Born in Madrid, each studied fine arts, and have dedicated more than 25 years to illustration, design and painting. Their mutual passion for their bonsai and for ceramics, led them several years ago to the inevitable path of creating bonsai pottery, which they have both been doing full time since 2020. Whether Japanese inspired painted porcelain pots, sculpted dragon or animal themed pieces
In free time, when not out walking the dogs, or caring for their bonsai, the couple both love to draw, paint, sculpt and generally create.
Inspired by Japanese culture and the work of other ceramists such as Gregorio Delattre (France), Hsinchuen Lin (USA), Dan Barton (UK)
Style: Our goal is to make no two pots alike, so our style is very varied and constantly evolving. We like to make pots for cultivation and, above all, pots for display or collection.
What you enjoy making: We like collective pots. We incorporate illustration and sculpture in our pieces.
Techniques used: We employ many techniques in the creation of our pieces. We use the potter´s wheel, pots made from slabs and even pots made from clay cord. We don´t use molds except for the Moko-style pots. These are made with molds we create ourselves from scratch.
The decoration of our pots is also varied: oxide painting, engobes, and third-fire decorative techniques.
Kamereon pots are currently accepting commission work, and the maximum size pot they can make in their Electric kiln in 37cm.
