Bonsai tables by David Roussel
David Roussel of Belgium has been making furniture for over 10 years and creates specialist bonsai tables, and Japanese furniture to a high quality.
I only use Japanese woodworking joinery to build my tables, known as 'sakimono' and I have a deep respect for the tradition.
I am passionate about hand-working with the various wood species and helping bonsai owners have a better display for their tree.
David uses the highest quality wood, and takes inspiration from pictures of old tables from the Kokufu Ten and from pictures of Bonsai tables in museums. From this inspiration, and understanding the proportions required for displaying a tree, David then goes on to make his own unique designs as well. With a recently created new workspace, we are excited to see the new designs that will be created.
D.R.Bonsai Tables are of limited supply, and demand is high, however, as a member of the EBPC, David will supply some high quality pieces especially for EBPC customers.
