Andrew Pearson
Andrew Pearson is the only Western bonsai potter to have been invited to, and entered one of Japan's major exhibitions. He produces superb one off pieces across a wide range; yet all within Andrew's distinctive Stone Monkey style.
In January 2014, he placed 2 entries; a glazed trio of pots, and an unglazed trio into the '10th Annual Modern Shohin Container Artist Exhibition', at the Gafu-Ten. Not only was he the first Westerner to enter, his unglazed entry took gold prize!
Stone Monkey Ceramics are beautifully crafted pots, with; superb attention to detail, clean straight lines, wonderful glazes, and stunning relief carvings.
Andrew specialises in Shohin, Kifu, and Chuhin size pots; all hand made for the discerning collector and enthusiast alike. He is inspired by classic Japanese ceramics, which is evident in pots, with subtle lines and quiet forms.
