Maidenhair Ceramics - Spain

For over 30 years, Nick Hopes has been an avid bonsai enthusiast, lovingly developing his collection of bonsai trees. Although he admired the Japanese aesthetic for pots, Nick was not as fascinated with the ceramic side of things, until he came across the pots of his now friend and on occasion tutor, Tom Benda.
When in 2022 Nick had the chance to make his own pots, a magnificent talent he didn't know existed reared it's head! Nick has been creating inspirational bonsai ceramics since, and his works are admired and used by leading artists in Europe and America.
Maidenhair Ceramics have a traditional style, with a modern twist and are mostly made with slab built construction, although Nick also enjoys making coil formed pots. 'Currently, I'm enjoying working with wood ash to give the clay some different shades. A work In progress!'.
Now a well-known bonsai potter throughout Europe and beyond, Nick’s creations will be available from leading outlets including: Mirai in the States, and the EBPC in Europe.
