K.M Bonsai Pots - Czech Republic
By Jakub Malcharek
Jakub Malcharek
Jakub Malcharek is an artist from Czech Republic, who has been fascinated with bonsai since his school days. In 2009, after seeing some pictures of bonsai, Jakub searched for information and the very next spring he started collecting trees, and his love affair for bonsai was born. Not long after starting to make pots for his own trees, Jakub Malcharek soon realised that he was captivated by the creation of such ceramics and has since tried to learn as much as possible. A limited number of KM Bonsai Pots have only been available for sale since 2019, yet are already sought after and have achieved great recognition.
From accent sized pieces in a flower shape design, to large 60cm ovals and rectangles, K.M. Bonsai pots are made to a variety of shapes, yet are all hand made, without the use of moulds. Their style is one of smooth finishes, clean contemporary lines, and rich intricate glazes - inspired by traditional pots, yet fused with his own character. Inspiration is taken not only from European and Japanese ceramists, but also from nature and other forms of art, including furniture and sculptures.
