Suteki Accent Pots - England
By Simon Haddon
Simon Haddon
Simon Haddon has been a passionate bonsaist for many years, and following a life changing conversation with Andy Pearson of Stone Monkey Ceramics in 2011 SUTEKI was born! Original Simon was inspired to make pots for myself but was soon encouraged to make more and try selling them on and the rest, as they say, is history.
…I have been lucky enough to have a great friend, and mentor, in Andy without who’s help and guidance none of this would have ever been possible plus, of course, my fantastic customers, both past and present, that seem to keep coming back for more – I guess I must be doing something right!
Inspired by Japanese ceramics and with a love for more obscure music I see myself as a bit of a Post-Apocalyptic Punk Potter whose quirky personality and dress sense is mirrored in much of my work. Never looking to “reinvent the ceramic wheel” I just look to give my work a ‘froggy’ twist on classic, and not so classic, shapes and forms.
Simon creates a varied range of very interesting works - mostly accent and pots for smaller trees. He enjoys using various techniques, including; slab building, pinch pots, carving and hand painting pots. We are very excited to now also offer his work through the EBPC!
