​‘Furo Bonsai Pots’ are the creation of Florent Coirier, an industrial designer from Paris, France, as well as a bonsai enthusiast of 25 years. Florent is a highly skilled and talented artist and his style can be described as ‘Modern Classic with traditional inspiration revisited’.
 
Florent's vocation demands the highest level of craftsmanship and attention to detail, which is clearly evident in his bonsai ceramics. His work is aesthetically and technically of a high quality, and although production levels are low, we hope to see more from this gifted artist in the coming years. 
 
Inspired largely by traditional and antique Japanese and Chinese furniture, Furo Bonsai Pots are meticulously hand built, either with slabs, or some are hand carved from a solid block of clay - an advanced technique which offers greater structural  integrity.
 
In addition to making his own glazes for the past few years, Florent also creates new clay colours and textures, by mixing different clays to make special colors of unglazed pots.
