The 11th Heathrow Bonsai Show |
For those that have not seen it yet, here is a video about Doug by JapanOutpost.org |
|
Doug will be remembered and greatly missed by many and our deepest condolences go out to Doug's wife Christine and family and friends.
Rest in peace my friend!
Revered across the bonsai world, Stone Monkey Ceramics comprehends and is conscious of the the tree-pot marriage and produces excellent designs, in a variety of forms and finishes that suit trees impeccably. As the first Westener to have been invited to participate in the world's leading bonsai exhibition and small pot contest, 'The Gafu-ten', (which he won first place in the unglazed section!!) we thought it fitting to have such a plaque made by Andrew - the first by a European potter as far as we know.
The EBPC are proud to support such artists, and we are very excited to be able to offer a range of 20 exclusive pots by this leading artist - COMING VERY SOON!
Thank you for supporting the EBPC and great European bonsai ceramics.
If you like to see your favourite pot on display at Europe's largest and most prestigious bonsai exhibition, the Trophy Exhibition in Belgium, please contact Alex Rudd of the EBPC on Alex@EuropeanBonsaiPotterCollective.com, with three images of the pot, and a brief description including maker and approximate age. We are determined to create the most impressive and educational display possible, so please get in touch, and share your passion with others! |
Selected pots will also be recorded for all time in the highly regarded Trophy book, from Bonsai Association Belgium.
The 2019 book has approximately 50 pages dedicated to the pot display alone.
... To get your copy of the 2019 book, please contact secretaris@bonsaiassociation.be .
Many thanks!
Alex
One of the great U.K. shows is happening this coming weekend. The European Bonsai Potter Collective is excited to be attending the Wirral Bonsai Society Annual Show. and as well as putting on a display of bonsai pots, we will be offering for sale superb pots from some of Europe's leading artists. .... The pot display celebrates painted pots, by just one potter, 'Ogurayama.' - A unique opportunity to view, appreciate and compare a variety of styles of sometsuke, akae and gosai paintings by this highly regarded Kyoto potter. This year the show will be judged by Harry Harrington ofBonsai4me.com, who will also do some critiques and demos over the weekend. There will also be a variety of other bonsai essentials for sale. A show not to miss if you are in the North of England; I look forward to seeing you there! |
