The 11th Heathrow Bonsai Show & Pot Display by the EBPC
A very enjoyable time was had at last weekend's 11th Heathrow Bonsai Show. This ever growing exhibition has a very friendly atmosphere, and differs, as it showcases club displays from across the country. It therefore attracts so many enthusiasts of all levels and it was so great to catch up with so many friends not seen for so long! A huge thank you to everyone that came along, and especially to all our customers for your ongoing support.
Some excellent trees were on display, and we very much enjoyed adding the ‘pot display’ dimension, which seemed to again be very well received.
The display showcased works made by just 5 leading Japanese potters for shohin, with accompanying information: Gyouzan, Kamiya Ryuen, Ino Shukuho, Wajaku, & Ikko.
All pots made by Ino Shukuho
Congratulations to Shiten Bonsai Society (of which I’m a back seat member) for their excellent winning display, and to everyone who entered trees.
Photographed below is one tree that really captured my interest - an Acer Campestre (field maple) planted on ‘iron rock’, with Soleirolia soleirolii (baby tears), in a beautiful nanban pot by Bryan Albright. (From the Sutton club display).
And finally we would like to offer a huge thank you to Mark & Ming Moorland, and the fantastic team for working tirelessly to ensure so many people could enjoy this wonderful experience!
